DCC Thanksgiving Halftimes

Thanksgiving has many traditions and for me one of them is watching the DCC halftime performances with various celebrities.  Now that we’ve all digested our turkey, I thought I’d do a rundown of all the entertainers that the DCC have performed with over the last 18 years in their Salvation Army Red Kettle Kickoff Halftime Shows.

Here’s a Youtube video of this year’s show.  It was lively indeed.

Video – DCC Doritos/Cheetos/Fritos Commercial

The DCC have made many television appearances and I stumbled across this old Doritos commercial featuring “Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.”  There is another version featuring some of the real squad members, but this one is pretty cute.

DCC Warm Ups and Bodysuits

I was surfing the web and came across the pics above of the DCC in London this weekend.  Seeing that gorgeous warm up suit they’re wearing got me to thinking about the various warm ups and bodysuits they’ve worn since their inception.  So here’s some more history, this time it’s a timeline of sorts for what the DCC have worn over their world famous uniform.

DCC_JeaneMonfort_bluesuit

One of the first bodysuits I remember is this form fitting royal blue one above worn by Jeane Monfort in the 80s.  It was made of spandex and I truly believe that this is where the trend of wearing spandex began for pro sports dancers.  I could be wrong, but it sure seemed like all the squads in every sport started wearing shiny form-fitting spandex after the DCC debuted this suit during a Monday Night Football game.

One of the first warm ups I remember is pictured above.  The ladies pictured were members of the Show Group on a USO tour at the USS Constellation sometime in the decade of the 80s.

The dandy above was worn by the Sweethearts in the 90s.  The abundance of stars is a little too gaudy for today’s standards, but was considered quite nice at the time.

DCC_bodysuit_Korea

The navy blue number above was worn by the cheerleaders on a USO tour  in Korea in the 2000s.  The small fringe on the lower arm and the studs down the side are nice touches.

In 2008, they wore the simple yet appealing look above.  The stripes down the side give it a classic look.

Last year the squad wore the attractive warm up suit above.  On the left Lebron James is a happy man surrounded by America’s Sweethearts.  On the right, is a close up of the suit worn by besties Sydney and Jenna.  I love the stars on the upper arm.  This was my all time favorite until they topped it this year with the one featured in the two top pictures.  That’s just my opinion, of course.  What’s your favorite warm up or bodysuit of all time?  Sound off in the comments section.

Cheers.

DCC Video – Sydney Durso

Sydney has become a fan favorite over her 7 years on the squad.  She is a group leader, Show Group member, the “email female” on the Talkin’ Cowboys radio show and one of 12 DCCs selected to accompany the team to London, England next week for a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
